The United Republic of Tanzania has received financing in the amount of SDR 24,600,000.00 equivalent from the World Bank toward the cost of the Tanzania Forest Conservation and Management Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. This project will be jointly financed by the United Republic of Tanzania

The project will include the following components: (i) Supporting institutional change and improving service delivery, (ii) Private sector involvement in plantation management and (iii) Eastern Arc conservation and management which will implement the under mentioned consulting services, and goods to be procured under ICB procedures:-

i) Provision of consultancy services for the improvement of log sales system, Forest products exports & Forest Royalty system, implementation of log tracking system, communicate and disseminate log sales systems, Forest products exports and forest Royalty system;

ii) Provision of consultancy services to analyze critical issues in woodfuel sector (socio-economic, environmental, institutional, etc.) through compilation and review of existing literature and reports, primary data collection analysis and developing a plan to integrate, sustainable woodfuels production into the National Energy Policy.

iii) Procurement of IT Equipment

Procurement of contracts financed by the World Bank will be conducted through the procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits of January 1995 revised in January and August 1996, September 1997 and January 1999., and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers of January 1997 revised September 1997, January 1999, and May 2002.

Specific procurement notices for contracts to we bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for contracts for consultancy services will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business and dgMarket, international and local news papers.
