II.1.4) Short description of the contract or purchase(s): (1) The
Delegation of the European Commission to Botswana has the intention to
conclude with a company specialised in the security of persons and of
premises a framework contract subject to the specifications below.
(2) The company will be entrusted with the surveillance and protection of
the premises of the Commission Gaborone: the offices and houses of the
members of staff of the Commission (located in residential Gaborone (Ext
2, 9, 11 and the Village)).
The scope of the services includes, but is not limited to:
(a) the surveillance and patrolling of the premises with a view to
avoiding any intrusion and attack on their belongings;
(b) the control of access to the premises by visitors;
(c) the communication between the premises by means of a VHF radio network
linking all the premises to a central operations centre to be manned by
operators provided by the company;
(d) the immediate intervention by use of rapid response or back-up unit to
any of the premises in the incident;
(e) other security services such as installation of radio alarm
transmitters and intruder alarms.
The specifications document with details of the quantities and the full
scope will be available to the companies that will have been preselected
following the conclusion of the restricted preselection procedure. The
tender is not divisible into lots but subcontracting to not more than 1
service provider will be accepted.
