The Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) is the independent regulatory authority for the ICT industry in Kenya with responsibilities in telecommunications, radiocommunication, broadcasting and postal services.

CCK wishes to purchase an automated telecommunications/radio equipment conformance tester with the ability to test major network access standards, for different types of telecommunication and radio communication equipment such as handset telephones, routers, digital switches, PBXs, VoIP gates, mobile phones and other radiocommunication equipment.

The testing equipment shall be used to carry out in–house compliance testing in accordance with the relevant international standards to determine equipment conformance to nationally accepted standards.

The equipment should be equipped with test suites for analyzing a wide range of parameters including transit frequency, transmit powers, frequency deviations, receiver sensitivity for radio equipment and standards, protocols, voltage levels and current levels.

CCK, therefore, invites interested firms to collect tender documents from the Procurement Unit at the Commission’s offices, CCK Centre, along Waiyaki Way between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 a.m. upon payment of non-refundable fee of Kenya shillings Kshs.5,000 or USD 63.

Payment should be made by cash or banker’s cheque payable to the Communications Commission of Kenya. Firms may also download the documents from CCK website at the address, http://www.cck.go.ke/tenders/analyzer.pdf and attach proof of payment of the above stated amount for the tender documents.

Duly completed tender documents should be submitted in a plain, sealed envelope bearing the relevant tender reference via the address below or deposited in our tender box located on the ground floor of the CCK Centre, so as to reach on or before 11th March, 2009 at 2.30 p.m.

Bids shall be opened soon thereafter in the presence of the bidder’s representative(s) who choose to attend at the Commission’s 1st floor meeting room.
