INVITATION TO TENDER

The Kenya Power & Lighting Company Limited (KPLC) invites tenders from interested suppliers (Bidders) both Local and International for the supply of the following items:

Tender Number: KPLC1/10AA-3/PT/04-08/09
Description of Goods: Prepayment Static Meters for Active Energy
Tender Closing Date: July 6th 2009

Tender Number: KPLC1/10AA-3/PT/05-08/09
Description of Goods: Prepayment Meters Boards
Tender Closing Date: July 7th 2009

Supply shall be on Delivered Duty Paid basis to KPLC Stores.

The Tender Documents detailing the information may be obtained from the Office of the Chief Manager, Supplies, Stores & Transport, situated on 3rd Floor, Stima Plaza, Kolobot Road, Nairobi, on normal working days from Tuesday 9th June, 2009 between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.

The Tender Documents will be issued upon payment of a non-refundable fee of KShs.3,000.00 or equivalent in US$. Payment shall be made in Cash or by Banker’s Cheque at Stima Plaza, 1st Floor, Costing Office.

Tenderers who had purchased Tender No.KPLC1/1C/5/3/65/08 (Prepayment Static Meters for Active Energy) and Tender No.KPLC1/1C/5/3/68/08 (Supply of Meter Boxes) and are willing to participate may obtain the Tender Document free of charge upon production of the Official Receipt previously issued as evidence of purchase.

Completed Tender Documents in plain sealed envelopes clearly marked with the “Tender No. and Tender Description” as more particularly described in the Tender Document should be addressed and delivered to:

P O Box 30099 -00100 Nairobi, Kenya.

So as to be received not later than the tender closing date and time as indicated in the Tender Document as shown above.

Tenders will be opened immediately there after on the closing date and Bidders or their representatives are welcome to witness the opening in the Stima Plaza Auditorium.

Save when responding to KPLC’s request for a clarification, bidders shall not contact or discuss any aspect of their tender with KPLC after closing date before receipt of notification of award of tender or letters of regret, as applicable. Any such contact shall lead to disqualification of the tenders.
